Hello,

Coming back online after a few difficult years (I won't share private details here but it involved massive health crises in my immediate family).

I'm slowly crawling my way out of that particular hole, and things are by no means finished. I obviously don't feel comfortable making promises, as this is likely to take time. I have therapy, we're all in a reasonable place all things considered, and I personally am slowly trying to get back to a regular writing practise.

Among the projects I'm working on is a re-release of Dominion of the Fallen in North America. Yep, the ruined Paris books! They've been out of print in the US: my agent and got the rights reverted, and we are in the process of relaunching them. ETA for release is March 2026.

Keep your eyes peeled for a cover reveal, bonus content, and a preorder campaign. Bonus content will include intros by Adrian Tchaikovsky and Kate Elliott, and stories set in the same universe which have previously been hard to find as they were exclusives.

Here are a couple of free stories by me you might have missed:

-"The Breaker of Mountains and Rivers" which is basically my Annatar/Celebrimbor-inspired fic.

-"Descendant" over at Friction magazine, in which a woman must content with the call of the sea (Content warning for terminal illness and death--it's a metaphor but it's pretty clear).

I'm still working on Thuan and Asmodeus book 3. It's... turned into a whole novel, I'm afraid. But it's a lot of fun watching these two trying to deal with mysterious disappearances, running a teahouse, and (the worst, especially if you're Asmodeus) a dinner with friends trying to help you.

Media consumed: Hades II. That's pretty much all, but it's such a good game!

Appearances:

  • World Fantasy Con end of October
  • Sui Generis in Madrid Nov 14-16
  • Aetnacon December 5th-7th

And eldest kiddo and I will be attending the Eastercon 2026 in Birmingham, a whole new experience of cons as a family!
